Destination Overview
The Nusa Dua resort area is a fully self-contained beach resort environment with a wide array of restaurant, entertainment, and recreational facilities. Comprising about three miles of white sand beaches, landscaped open areas, deluxe hotels and recreation facilities, Nusa Dua is Bali for many. Situated at the southern tip of the island of Bali, Nusa Dua has the highest concentration of top class tourism services. Perceived within travel circles as a mainstream tourist development, its growth has paralleled Bali’s emergence as a world-class vacation destination.
Nusa Dua was conceived and planned in the late 1970’s by the Government of Indonesia to receive the majority of Bali’s luxury resort development. The area is overseen by the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC), a governmental agency responsible for its development and management. A comprehensive plan and design review by the BTDC ensures that all new construction conforms to the area’s image as a premier, international class resort destination. The resort’s dramatic entry gate, unified architecture and lush tropical landscaping give the area an image of distinction.
An extensive Convention Center opened in early 1991 giving Bali the ability to compete for large international conferences and conventions. The Bali Ngurah Rai airport is only a twenty minutes drive away.
In addition to the many 5 star hotels in the area, an "Amenity Core" has been developed in the center of Nusa Dua. The area is a lively commercial development catering to the tourist market with a major department store, small specialty shops, and a mix of restaurant and other commercial facilities.
Located in the heart of Nusa Dua’s hotel area, the 18-hole championship course and the other integrated developments of the Bali Golf and Country Club are world-class attractions on Bali’s list of impressive travel opportunities and rank Bali as a major golf destination in the Asian region. |
