The Kali Uma Estate is hidden away in the rice fields, close to the traditional village of Umalas and just ten minutes’ drive from Batu Belig beach on Bali’s south western coast. For horse lovers, the Umalas Equestrian Centre is less than two kilometres away, offering everything from sunset beach rides to dressage tuition and riding lessons for young children. Set amid sparkling rice terraces, the spectacular greens overlook the Indian Ocean and the dramatic wave-lashed Tanah Lot sea temple.

The Canggu Community School, presenting quality education for children between the ages of 4 and 12, is located in the neighbouring village of Brawa, and the Bali International School, presenting syllabuses for both primary and secondary education, is thirty minutes’ drive away in Sanur. Adjoining the Canggu Community School, the Canggu Club is Bali’s first and only international private members’ club; offering sports, social and leisure facilities, including a state-of-the art gym, a 25-metre swimming pool and a tennis & squash centre.
