From the Moluccas to the Spice Islands and hopping the ring of fire to the Flower Cape…Ambon-SpiceIslands-Flores

On day 1 you will embark on Ombak Putih in Tulehu harbor on the island of Ambon. The vessel will depart in the course of the afternoon and she goes on a South-Easterly course for the overnight crossing to Bandaneira.

On day 2 you will arrive in the famous Spice Islands. We first stop at the Westernmost Ai Island to visit the centuries old spice plantations and fortifications. Late in the morning we go for a swim or for some snorkeling on an islet nearby. Around noon we proceed toward Bandaneira town, passing by the Api volcano. You have the time to explore the small town at your own pace. We have dinner on board spending a quiet evening in the lagoon.

On day 3 you have the option to go for an early morning trek up the Gunung Api volcano to enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding islands. Around noon we will depart toward Pisang Island for some more exceptional snorkeling and more stunning views from the small village on the hills. We set sail again late in the afternoon for the overnight crossing to Manuk.

On day 4 you arrive at the small island of Manuk early in the morning and although it is not possible to land here, we spend several hours in what is truly a bird and marine sanctuary. We then proceed another 45 miles to Serua, another volcanic island and here we go ashore at the village of Jerili. These two islands are literally some of the most remote ones in the archipelago.

On day 5 you wake up in the small bay on the East Coast of Damar Island. We go ashore at the village of Beber for a two hour trek around the volcano to the beach on the North coast. In the afternoon we anchor off the small uninhabited island of Pulau Terbang Utara where our tender will take us into its lagoon.

On day 6 we will first go snorkeling off the deserted beach of Moapora, a small island near Pulau Romang. In the afternoon we will meet the inhabitants of the main island and then make a two hour trek from east to West through the orange and coconut groves.

On day 7 we stop on the West Coast of Wetar Island. First we anchor off the small islet of Reong and later in the day we go ashore on the main island for a walk to the hot springs and the small settlement.

On day 8 you will go ashore on the island of Alor. We anchor in front of the town of Kalabahi and through the rugged landscape we will cross to the village of Takpala to get some insight in the specific character of the island and witness some traditional dances.

On day 9 we make a stop on the South coast of Lembata to visit the traditional whale hunting village of Lamalerap. Here local fishermen still practice a primitive form of whaling with their small open boats that are called "pledang".

On day 10 we still have time for a morning swim before we reach our final destination, the town of Maumere on Flores.
