Honeymoon guests are ushered to Puri Le Mayeur, the romantic honeymoon suite that was created as a stunning tribute to the romantic of Belgian painter Le Mayeur and his beautiful Balinese muse Ni Polok. This spacious single story villa hovers above a lotus pond overlooking the sea.
The romantic interior is filled with replicas of Balinese furniture from Le Mayeur's Sanur residence and some of the memorabilia of the artist. Keepsake photographs and the dominant red colour lit with gold carvings reflect the warm love of every honeymoon couple, and the eternal memories of Le Mayeur and Ni Polok's love.
The colonial style architecture of the Walter Spies Pavilion is reminiscent of his days in Yogya. Memorabilia from his days there are beautifully displayed within the pavilion which features a unique sunken bathroom. A magical ambience is created by the superb antique stained glass windows that decorate both the main pavilion and the bathhouse. A fitting tribute to this great artist.
Elements of Balinese design are used to great effect in the guest rooms. Old doors from a village house here, a painting there, or perhaps a superb piece of furniture to give a focus to the room. The Rejang Suites on the upper floors have an attractive timber interior with windows opening out on to lush padi fields and the sea beyond. A relaxation area comes with a giant tub and massage bed.
The lavish garden Dedari Suites on the lower level are complemented by private plunge pools and big bath tubs crafted by local artisans. The hotel lobby has a magnificent view of lush tropical gardens and the quiet beach beyond. Sunset time is also tea time when guests sit by the lobby chatting with other guests as the sun sink below the clouds. Tea is served with traditional Balinese and Javanese cakes in a timeless atmosphere.
