Things to Do in Bali – Bali Treetop Adventure Park

By admin On Friday, February 6, 2015 | Comments (0)

High in Bali’s mountain range, slightly west of centre, lie the fertile lands of Bedugal, Bali’s premiere garden region. It is here that most of the salad is produced for the kitchens of the hotels and Bali villas for rent as well as that sold in the shops. The weather is several degrees cooler here and this provides an ideal location for the Bedugal Botanical Gardens with its collection of plant and tree species from all over the archipelago. It is also home to one of Bali’s newest attractions, Bali Treetop Adventure Park.

This is a novel adventure activity for those who are not afraid of being (reasonably) high above the ground and safety is assured with the use of Petzl karabiners, ropes and other equipment. As soon as the climb begins, guests are schooled to always have at least one of the karabiners attached to a safety wire at all times and for most of the time, two are simultaneously fastened and frequently checked by staff members.

Fun for children and adults alike, different courses wind through the trees at different heights; starting gently at only a couple of metres above the ground they rise and rise and, depending upon the route taken, finish in zip-line slides which originate at dizzying heights and finish in vertically strung cargo nets. The courses present varying challenges, from simple suspension bridges, through high-wires and swinging barrels. It makes a great day out from your Bali villas rental and you would do very well to ask your kitchen staff to make you up a picnic to eat on the grass outside. This is also a great place for a knockabout with a soccer ball or a game of baseball or rounders and, in fact, it provides one of the few authentic ‘park’ experiences in Bali, which generally is lacking in open public spaces.

There are a few Bali villas for rent in the area and it can be a very pleasant experience to spend a few days in the relative cool of the mountains where air conditioning is rarely required and some Bali villas for rental even have open fires which are ideal for romantic trysts in rare style! A daytrip at Treetops is feasible from Seminyak or Sanur although it is a fairly long journey so it might be best to employ a driver for the trip, especially if you are unused to driving on Bali’s roads.
