La Joya boutique resort sits majestically on top of the cliff above the white sand beach at Balangan. The views from here are stunning, with 180 degree panoramas from Uluwatu across to Kuta and the volcanoes beyond. The way to the resort is mainly by asphalt road with the exception of the last 250 meters which is currently a track (bumpy in places) cut into the rock. This however is one of the attractions which makes La Joya an exclusive holiday hideaway. The resort and villa are approx. 25 minutes drive from the airport and 20 minutes from Uluwatu and Dreamland. La Joya resort was opened in July 2003 and is already attracting repeat clients.

La Joya comprises of 8 x 1 bed pavilions, each with its own tropical garden and panoramic views of the Indian ocean. The pavilions all share a large 25 meter infinity style swimming pool and a cozy bar which is located under the shade of the poolside restaurant. A great spot to enjoy your refreshments and relax whenever you feel the need.
The pavilions can accommodate a total of 16 people (2 persons per pavilion) perfect for small groups and are each fitted with a king sized bed, a sofa and an ensuite bathroom with shower and western style toilet. Tasteful decor; colorful drapes, cotton sheets, comfortable pillows, cushions and netting lend an air of romance to each pavilion.

Next to the resort is a private two bedroom, only one bedroom has
air conditioned, the second bedroom has a fan, two bathroom villa set in 1500 square meters of tropical gardens with its own exclusive 15 meter swimming pool. The villa will comfortably sleep 4 adults and an extra sofa bed can be made up for extra guests or those with children. The bedroom in the pavilions take advantage of the refreshing ocean breezes and as such there are insect nets All bungalows are equipped with air-conditioning and individual safe. Mosquitoes are few so not a problem, this is due to the dry medditeranean landscape in this part of Bali.

The European management at La Joya are at hand to help you enjoy your stay and the warm welcome they provide will quickly make you feel at home. The English-speaking Balinese staff with thier famous smiles are also at your service. The bar and restaurant are open all day long serving a variety of cocktails, beer and Balinese plus European delicacies. Meals can be served at whatever time you prefer, either at the restaurant or in the intimacy of your villa or pavilion.

Until December 2003, the restaurant will serve a buffet supper for residents at unique introductory prices. Grilled crawfish, prawns, fish, sushi, BBQ and local Indonesian and Balinese specialties... plus other delicious meals created by our Chef.

Your only problem at La Joya boutique resort will choosing between the swimming pool, sun loungers, beach, bar, restaurant or maybe a game of pétanque (French bowls). You will of course enjoy all the facilities of the beach: Massages, diving, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, and also of course the most popular sport on the island surfing!

Numerous surfing schools on Balangan beach provide lessons for beginners or advanced levels and golfers can enjoy the world class courses all around the island; the closest is Nusa Dua which is approx. 25-30 minutes by car.
